Stratora v2.4.0 — Your whole infrastructure, one operational picture
Open a site in Stratora 2.4.0 and you see the whole location at once: 23 nodes across a mixed Hyper-V and VMware estate, the network topology, availability and alerts, the VMs and the services they run — one physical site, comprehended in about five seconds. That's the release in a sentence. Virtualization is no longer a separate tab you go check; it's part of the operational picture for the site it lives in.
Virtualization isn't an island
Most monitoring tools treat hypervisors as their own world — a VMware console here, a Proxmox UI there, a separate dashboard you remember to open. Stratora 2.4.0 takes the opposite view: whatever a site runs, Stratora folds it in.
Discover a hypervisor through the normal add paths — network discovery, an IPAM subnet scan, or the setup wizard — and Stratora classifies it (VMware vSphere, vCenter, Proxmox VE, or Hyper-V), onboards it with the credential you already have on file, and brings its hosts, VMs, and datastores into the site it belongs to. Time-to-value is about 30 minutes, and a site that runs all three platforms simply shows all three.
- Auto-generated dashboards appear when you add a hypervisor and are cleaned up when you remove it — per-platform and site-level views with VMs and their run-state, hosts, datastores (including thin-provisioning headroom), and vCPU and capacity rollups.
- A vCenter management-plane view gives you the managed ESXi hosts, the VMs across them, and the datastores in one place — the inventory the way vCenter sees it, inside Stratora.
- VM and host status use the same at-a-glance indicators as everything else in Stratora, so a stopped VM reads the same way a down switch does.
- Network topology maps lay out cleanly and center on load, so a site's shape is legible the moment you open it.
Reliability and security, hardened
New surface area is only worth adding if the foundation holds. Three changes in 2.4.0 make the platform you already trust a little more trustworthy:
- Your alerts survive a monitoring blip. If a collector or metrics source goes briefly unreachable, capacity and health alerts are now preserved rather than cleared — you won't lose sight of a filling datastore or a degraded array because a collector blinked.
- Escalations show everyone. On-call notifications now surface every intended recipient, including any that couldn't be reached — no silent gaps in who got paged.
- Tighter credential handling on collector configuration.
Upgrading
v2.4.0 is an in-place upgrade from v2.2.1. Your existing monitored infrastructure is preserved.
